Baxley

Sweet Baxley...one of the most endearing dogs you could meet! He was at the Independence, MO shelter as a stray for quite awhile. I had posted his pics and info with no luck for weeks, then he became urgent and was scheduled to die this past Friday. We pulled him to save his life and he is now still looking for a rescue to take him in, or someone to temp. foster him or for his forever home.

Baxley is now fully vetted. He is about 45 pounds and so, so cute! So much more than these pics show! He is maybe 6 or 7 years old. He has one of the most wonderful temperaments a dog could have! He is just full of love. Baxley is calm and mellow but loves to be with people and other dogs! I had the pleasure of getting him out of the shelter on his freedom ride away from there, and he kissed/licked the mouth of the lab in my car about 4 different times! That was their first meeting with one another. The lab was in my front seat and Baxley in the back. Baxley decided it would be better to try to climb in my lap and he did his best to try! So, his front half was lying on my lap! He is a doll!

Baxley has toes missing on his front leg and this could either be birth defect or injury. The vet who boarded him over the weekend didn't seem concerned. He gets around fine with it...will step a little differently with that foot but he gets around. He will sometimes hold it up but again, he has learned to adjust with it.

Baxley absolutely deserves to go to the BEST home! He really needs to head to a foster home soon if at all possible while he waits to find his forever home. He has spent too many days as is in a kennel on hard concrete.

If you can offer Baxley a home..foster or permanent, please let me know. If you can take him into your rescue program, please let me know. If you can help with his boarding costs right now in the interim, please let me know! Thank you so much on behalf of this precious dog!!!!
